Dalia Segev is an Israeli artist working across painting, collage, and printmaking. A graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem (BFA, 1988), she later continued her studies in etching at the Jerusalem Print Workshop and participated in advanced composition and color studies with leading Israeli artists. Segev’s work emerges from prolonged observation of nature and landscape, moving between local, imagined, and emotionally charged environments. Through loose brushwork, layered textures, collage, and expressive color, she deconstructs and reassembles landscape forms, searching for moments of balance within states of disruption and instability. Her paintings reflect an ongoing dialogue between harmony and fragmentation, shaped by contemporary life and emotional experience. A member of the Israel Artists’ Association, Segev has presented eight solo exhibitions in Israel, including exhibitions at the Artists’ House in Tel Aviv, the Municipal Gallery in Rehovot, and Beit Shmuel in Jerusalem. Her works have also been exhibited internationally and are held in private and public collections in Israel, the United States, and Bahrain.

Working in small- to medium-scale prints combined with collage, Segev fragments the landscape into pieces of matter and spirit, as though it were dissolving into abstract forms that no longer suggest a country with clearly defined borders. The exhibition considers the individual's existential condition within an apocalyptic reality. Forests burn in orange flames, evoking a place that can ignite in an instant and consume what has been built over years. In contrast, works dominated by pale and deep blues offer moments of visual respite, cooling turbulent and uncontrollable emotions. Through this movement between fragility and intensity, the exhibition draws attention to the delicacy of the human fabric. Segev presents works that are sensitive and restrained alongside more turbulent images characterized by a wild, uncontrollable nature. Their balance invites an inward gaze and suggests the possibility of bridging divisions between us. Printmaking combined with collage enables Segev to construct an alternative reality—a new space in which there is room to breathe. In some works, a tiny shoot breaks through and grows upward, asserting existence in the here and now and pointing toward beauty within creation. ARTIST STATEMENT — DALIA SEGEV “The tears I create have a double meaning: the metaphorical tearing of the whole and the physical tearing of the paper. In some works, the edges are frayed or lack defined boundaries. The natural world is a source of inspiration for me, in which I search for a sense of harmony and inner quiet.”
