I Love ikooki

Dvir Cohen Kedar

Dvir Cohen Kedar is a contemporary artist based in Düsseldorf, Germany. Working primarily in painting, drawing, printmaking, and digital media, his practice explores the translation of images across different visual languages. Through processes of distortion, reconstruction, and painterly intervention, he examines the shifting relationship between original sources, memory, and representation. Kedar received a B.Ed. in Fine Arts with honors from the Midrasha School of Art, Beit Berl College (2005), followed by an MFA from the University of Haifa (2008). He later expanded his practice through advanced studies in figurative painting and digital sculpting. He is a co-founder of Alfred – A Cooperative Institute for Arts and Culture in Tel Aviv, where he was an active member between 2005 and 2020. His work has been presented in numerous solo exhibitions, including Specters at the Ashdod Museum of Art, Ship of Fools and i love ikooki at Alfred Gallery, Endangered Perversities at the Haifa Museum of Art, and Suspended Animation at Contemporary by Golconda. Kedar has participated in exhibitions throughout Israel and Europe, including the Kunstpalast Düsseldorf, Mishkan Museum of Art, Ein Harod, Petach Tikva Museum of Art, Ramat Gan Museum of Israeli Art, Tel Aviv Artists' House, Barbur Gallery, and BETONBOX Düsseldorf. In 2023 he received the Creative Encouragement Award for Fine Arts from the Israel Ministry of Culture. His works are held in private collections in Israel, Germany, the United States, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Sweden, and Canada.
