About the Artist ↓

Moran Fisher is a painter living and working in Ein Hod. Her practice explores relationships between organic structures, pattern, repetition, color, and abstraction, drawing inspiration from natural forms and textiles. Through layered compositions, repeated shapes, folds, and rhythmic structures, her paintings move between recognizable material forms and abstraction. Fisher holds an MFA from the University of Haifa and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from HKU University of the Arts in Utrecht, the Netherlands. In 2010, she received the Royal Award for Modern Painting in the Netherlands. She has exhibited in Israel and internationally and, since 2024, has been a member of the collaborative Nulobaz Gallery in Tel Aviv.

Exhibition Statement

To encounter the world anew, we will have to wean the eye and the ear from years of sobriety. The pulse is the first rhythm: the creation of days, nursing, the circulation of blood. It is the only rhythm, entirely repetition—a repetition that articulates multiplicity. Time and again, the painter returns to the surface, like the recurrence of holidays throughout a person's life. She circles and revolves around the canvas again and again; the act of repetition and rotation is itself the navel of change and transformation. Such transformation is always present—it is reality. It pierces and carves into a person's eyes and ears; it opens holes in the body, in waking life and in dreams. Painting is the final reckoning, the possibility of returning to the garden, protected from the gravitational force of every thought. — Yaakov Biton, August 2023
