Irena Brodeski

Claimed

(1975)

Irena Brodeski is a self-taught artist and programmer based in Israel, originally from Odesa, Ukraine. Throughout her life, she has explored a wide range of artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, and sculpture, developing her practice through independent study and years of dedicated artistic exploration. While spending most of her professional career in the high-tech industry, art has remained a constant and essential part of her life. Alongside her artistic practice, she is the author and illustrator of several books that combine traditional visual expression with digital technologies. Today, Brodeski works primarily in watercolour, a medium she values for its spontaneity, complexity, and capacity for continual discovery. Her work is inspired by the landscapes of Israel, where she has lived for more than three decades, drawing particular influence from the contrasts between desert and oasis, as well as the shifting relationships between light, color, and atmosphere. Through her paintings, she seeks to capture both the character of place and the emotional resonance of the natural world.
