"St. Valentin mit Schlern (Abenddämmerung)" ("St. Valentine with Schlern (Twilight)"), c. 1931, signed M. KAHRER, signed and titled on the reverse of the stretcher, oil on canvas, 60 x 79 cm, framed Max Kahrer had very few opportunities in his life to leave his hometown of Klosterneuburg. One of his few travels was to South Tyrol in 1931. This popular view of the picturesque church of St. Valentin inspired him to create the only known oil painting from this trip.
