Biography

Fatmeh Sleman (b. 1997) is an artist whose practice explores the relationship between personal identity, everyday experience, and human relationships. She is particularly interested in questions of femininity, society, and the position of women within the realities that surround them. Her work develops from close observation of personal experience and her immediate environment, combining different materials, techniques, and imagery. Through art, Sleman seeks to give space to voices and experiences that can remain unseen, while developing a personal visual language through which she can ask questions, express emotion, and examine reality from her own perspective.
