About the Exhibition

The graduating exhibition of the Department of Art at Oranim College marks the culmination of four years of studying multidisciplinary art and art education. Featuring 15 graduates, the exhibition spans a range of media, including video, painting, sculpture, printmaking, drawing, and more. The works articulate a broad spectrum of perspectives, merging the biographical with social and cultural concerns. The fragility of reality, in all its facets, resonates throughout the exhibition spaces. Some pieces engage with the charged terrain of the domestic and family sphere, while others offer a searching gaze into existential conditions steeped in pain. A mythic dimension emerges in many of the projects, through which the artists seek to transmute trauma, draw strength, and forge new possibilities of being. The maternal-feminine figure likewise stands at the center of numerous works, exploring power relations, the construction of identity, and questions of body and material from a gendered perspective. Across the exhibition, one senses a shared orientation toward the transformative capacity of the artistic act, toward the possibility of imagining healing and repair, and of weaving new relations in the world.
