Wedean Abdalla (b. 2003) is a multidisciplinary artist working with charcoal drawing, iron sculpture, and raw materials. She has drawn since childhood, and art has long been a significant part of her life. Her decision to study art grew from a desire to transform the curiosity, questions, and observation that have accompanied her over the years into a personal language through which she can explore herself and the world around her. Her practice draws inspiration from nature, organic structures, and classical mythology, moving between dense charcoal drawings and dynamic sculpture made with iron wire. Abdalla explores questions of female inner identity, memory, connection to the environment, and the tension between the individual and the collective. For her, art is a space in which questions without a single or clear answer can be approached through material, form, and movement. She describes art as a space of metamorphosis: a place where raw, inanimate materials are transformed into forms that seem to breathe and invite contemplation.
