At the centre of the space stands a sculpture of a female figure, like a raw tree emerging from a proliferation of shadows and iron wires. The figure appears frozen in place, yet it is precisely from this stillness that she takes root and expands—like the mythological Daphne, who sought to escape Apollo's pursuit and was transformed into a magnificent tree. In my work, I return again and again to the image of the tree: to the hidden power held in its roots, to the flexibility of its branches, and to the feminine qualities embodied within it. The story of Daphne echoes through the exhibition space, interwoven with images of nature and the body, a water source, and a dense forest darkened with charcoal. Through this new spatial environment, I examine the tension between stillness and growth, and ask how the female figure—moving between light and shadow, fracture and strength—finds the impulse to continue existing.
