Founded in Stockholm in 1870 by Henryk Bukowski, Bukowskis is one of the Nordic region's oldest and most prominent auction houses. Its programme includes classical, modern and contemporary art, design, antiques, jewellery, watches, books, ceramics and specialist collections. Bukowskis operates live and online auctions and has maintained its own brand as part of the Bonhams international network since 2022.

Auction Highlight
Tove Jansson — The Windows of the Atelier
Painted in 1965, The Windows of the Atelier offers an intimate view of Tove Jansson's studio at Ullanlinnankatu 1 in Helsinki. The composition brings together the studio's tall arched windows, neighbouring rooftops, a familiar Vienna chair and a sculpted figure. Created during a period when Jansson was producing larger and increasingly abstract paintings, the work reflects both the personal importance of her studio and the broader development of her artistic practice. Bukowskis offered the painting in its Helsinki Spring Sale in May 2023.
